J.B. Frost

J.B. Frost specializes in representing clients in transactions and disputes involving intellectual property and technology assets and issues. J.B.’s practice includes structuring, drafting and negotiating agreements to license, acquire, develop, support and outsource technology products, systems and functions. J.B. also helps clients obtain, commercialize and protect trademarks, copyrights, patents, trade secrets and personality rights.

J.B.'s practice also includes counseling clients regarding emerging Internet, privacy and consumer protection laws, including drafting and negotiating digital content distribution agreements, formulating online e-commerce policies and contracts for a variety of commercial websites and designing comprehensive data collection, use and transfer policies. J.B. also helps clients create and perform comprehensive intellectual property asset protection programs and audits and represents clients in connection with the adoption, registration and protection of trademarks at the United States Patent and Trademark Office and in trademark disputes under ICANN's Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy.

J.B. graduated from Loyola Law School in 1996, magna cum laude and Order of the Coif. He received the American Juris Prudence Awards for Contracts/Ethics, Counseling and Negotiation/ Constitutional Law. J.B. also served as Editor & Staff Member of the Loyola Law Review. Following graduation, J.B. practiced at O'Melveny & Myers LLP and served as the co-chair of the firm's Intellectual Property & Technology Transactions group until co-founding Coleman Frost LLP in 2004.

 

J.B. has also written and lectured on various intellectual property and technology issues, including making presentations to the Los Angeles County Bar Association on privacy issues and to the Software Council of Southern California on challenges presented in ASP licensing.

J.B. also played soccer at U.C.L.A. and professionally before attending law school and currently serves as the President of the L.A. Galaxy South Bay soccer club, a registered 501(c)(3) Charitable Organization.
