Johnny Kim

As a part of the Coleman Frost team, Johnny Kim is primarily focused on litigating business, commercial, real estate, bankruptcy, and other general civil disputes in state courts as well as in federal district and bankruptcy courts.  Johnny has litigated a diverse array of matters from disputes in bankruptcy as appointed Special Litigation Counsel on behalf of chapter 11 debtors, to representative consumer actions filed on behalf of tens of aggrieved plaintiffs, to disputes concerning intellectual property rights conservatively worth over $100 million.  In addition to litigation, Johnny is well-versed in factoring and other forms of asset-backed finance, secured transactions (UCC Art. IX), creditors' rights, and pre and post-judgment commercial collections.

Before joining Coleman Frost in 2024, Johnny practiced as the sole principal of his own firm for eighteen years, which he founded back in 2006. As the principal of his own firm, Johnny represented corporate and individual clients in civil litigation and transactions concerning their business, corporate, real estate, finance, bankruptcy, and commercial affairs.  Johnny’s representative matters included obtaining a Four Million Dollar ($4,000,000.00) judgment on behalf of the Estate of Elvis Pressley in a federal bankruptcy adversary action against a fraudulent transferee of a chapter 11 debtor.

Johnny began his legal career as an associate of Ronald P. Slates. P.C. from 2004 to 2006 where his practice was focused on general civil litigation, creditors’ rights, and commercial collections.  During his short time there, Johnny’s experience included  representing Microsoft Corporation to enforce all of its money judgments nationwide.

Johnny graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles in 2000 with a B.A. in political science and thereafter earned his J.D. from Hofstra University
