Madeleine Cane

Madeleine’s practice is focused primarily on commercial litigation in state and federal court and has involved litigation, arbitration, and counseling on a range of commercial matters, with an emphasis on complex insurance and reinsurance disputes. Madeleine has represented clients in litigation involving policy rescission, bad faith underwriting and claims-handling, and general coverage. She has also successfully litigated a wide variety of pro bono matters involving immigration, veterans’ benefits, and sentence reduction.

Madeleine is admitted to practice by the bars of California and Washington, DC. She earned her JD, cum laude, at the Georgetown University Law Center in 2021, after graduating from The George Washington University in 2015 with a B.A. in psychology. While attending GULC, Madeleine acted as co-counsel for a group of female mineworkers in Lesotho to litigate workplace harassment disputes as part of the International Women’s Human Rights Clinic. She also served as an Executive Editor of the American Criminal Law Review, as a summer law clerk to The Honorable Bruce D. White at Fairfax County Circuit Court, and as a research assistant to her products liability law professor, Ms. Heidi Li Feldman.

In addition to her work as an attorney, Madeleine serves on the Board of Directors of Specialty Family Foundation, which seeks to alleviate persistent poverty in her hometown of Los Angeles.
